May seem a daft question but do they get paid for playing for their country and if so how much?

Question two. Is Barry in the last year of his contract and if he is are Villa panicking? I might have got that wrong but thought he only had a year to run.

You don't get paid for playing for England, as far as I'm aware some nations give players some money as a reward if they qualify or achieve certain goals in tournaments (obviously the level at which these goals and rewards are set depend on the expectations of the nation's FA prior to the tournament).

I'm not sure about Barry's contract but I seem to remember someone saying he has 2 years left - although I could be wrong, and if I am I'm sure someone will correct me
