    Do I Not Like That!

This is absolutely essential viewing for anyone who hasn't seen this classic documentary.

    "HIT LES! HIT LES!"

"CARLTON! CARLTON! CAN WE NOT KNOCK IT?!"

ITV is to air an extended version of the landmark Graham Taylor documentary that went out 14 years ago on Channel 4 and has ordered a new film featuring the former England manager.

'An Impossible Job' was originally made by Chrysalis for Cutting Edge and followed England's dismal failure to qualify for the 1994 World Cup Finals. The fly-on-the-wall style gave an insight into the pressure Taylor was under before he was sacked.

North One, which now owns Chrysalis, has sold the doc to ITV4 and will also produce the 60-minute England Expects (working title) for ITV1.

The latter will feature Taylor talking to current England manager Fabio Capello plus Croatia boss Slaven Bililc and Dutch legend Johann Cruyff. It will be produced and directed by Carey Dunn and head of football Don Perretta.

Perretta said: "For the past 44 years England have perennially underachieved. Graham is the ideal person to talk about why England have struggled."

ITV director of news and sport Mark Sharman commissioned the show, which will air on 8 October before ITV1's coverage of England vs Kazakhstan.

An Impossible Job goes out on 7 October on ITV4."

Brilliant! This film is the funniest thing. Loved it the first time, will love it again. Of course, actually having to watch those England performances was totally painful.

I really like Graham Taylor. He knows what he's talking about imo, although he often has troube saying it.

Just finished watching this now, and I have to say I felt really sorry for the man, must be the worst job in sports that. But then again he said he was sorry he had to go, that he would have liked to stay on.

Those highlights from the Norway games brought back some good memories from my time at the university, and I remember I was in Bulgaria getting drunk and tanned during the world cup in -94

What a disgrace, that was some horrible horrible refereeing in the match against Holland The fourth official looked embarrassed

                Was it Brian Moore's commentary?

"He's gonna dink one...HE'S GONNA DINK ONE!!"

Have to say though, the decision not to send off Koeman was absolutely scandalous. Not to mention allowing Koeman to re-take his freekick after it was blocked. The same thing happened with England's free kick when Koeman dragged down Platt, the wall encroached but there was no re-take

Feel sorry for Taylor, but to an extent, he dug his own grave...i mean honestly...Carlton Palmer, Paul Merson, Andy Sinton.

                For goodness sake!

To much complaining about Taylor for my liking in the general media. Was a fantastic manager for Villa and Watford.

The writing was on the wall when he took Lineker of in Euro 92, preventing him from getting to the 50 goal mark and breaking Charltons record. The media had it in for him fom then on. And the decision to do a documentary was absurd. The editing that goes on means he was a fool.

For USA'94 he came up against a team in Norway who were virtually impossible to break down and beat. And as mentioned, we outplayed and were robbed by the Dutch who nearly went on to win the World Cup that year.

In all honesty we weren't that bad. To say he took on an ageing team from Bobby Robson he did nearly get it right. But England is like the Liverpool job. Huge expectations with no real evidence to say they should win.
                        Forwards.......

Can't wait to see this again tonight - it's a total classic.

"Will you please tell your friend he has just got me the sack."

FWIW I think Taylor is excellent on 5 Live.
