He played very well I though. Links up well with Defoe. Still love the big man.

Good player but not good enough for us once we had changed our style of play.

Good luck to the lad though as he always gave his all and never made to much fuss about being left out the team. Could have sat aroud and made a mint on a bosman but this lad is one who clearly wants to play games and is in the game for the right reasons.
        Forwards.......

Really pleased to see him score...I actually did a little cheer and a shout of 'get in Crouchie!'.

Love the bloke. He's struck up a good understanding with Defoe.

cant believe your al drooling over that goal..

i mean a shot gets deflected and catches crouch unawares on the head and goes into an empty net

defoe will score lots of goals with crouch - always wished we had gone for defoe - he definately knows where the net is

I really don't rate Defoe (at least as a really top level player). When people say that someone has struck up and understanding with him they generally mean that the other player has worked out where he has run and which position he invariably shoots from so they stand a decent chance of getting on the end of one and deflecting it in.

He seems the least aware forward in the PL to me. He has lots of talent in terms of finishing and getting at a man but his positional sense and passing are generally crap.

think it was more to do with his anticipation and reading of the game rather than it being a spectacular goal.

Crouchie will always hold a place in my affections for proving with two words that he wasn't stuck up his own arse like the majority of PL players thesedays.* When asked by a journalist for a mens mag: "What would you be if you weren't a footballer?"
                    Crouchie relied: "A virgin!"
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Ha! Ha! Yes, Crouchy is one of those players who leaves with most people's best wishes. Like Didi, Vladi, Luis and Igor I'll always wish him the best when he's not playing against us.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Isn't he joint top scorer in the Premiership?

I understand what you are trying to say. He is always offside. He's frustrating to watch. I'm sure Cisse will give him company at the top of both those tables.

i liken defoe to kris boyd up with rangers. both are pretty dismal at passing at times and their positioning ( for strikers ) is all over the place but one thing is certain......both will score a shed load of goals during the season. i personally like defoe. think he can play for a much bigger team than pompey. him and crouch will show many times this year what a potent strikeforce they can be.

Aye nice to see Crouch scoring y'day. He should get a great reception when he returns to Anfield and rightly so. Quality player and a good guy.
