    Pienaar arrested

    According to reports from Merseyside newspaper the Liverpool Daily Post, Everton's South African midfielder Steven Pienaar has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman following after he went to a police station with his legal representative.

    He is believed to have been bailed but is expected to report back to police following enquiries.

    The Daily Post quote a police spokesman as saying: "A 26-year-old man from Mossley Hill was arrested at around 11am yesterday on suspicion of assault. He has been bailed pending further inquiries."

    Steven Pienaar, 26, enjoyed a successful loan spell last season and Everton decided to offer Pienaar a permanent contract, he is yet to feature this season due to a troublesome foot injury.

    A woman was assualted and we don't know the circumstances or how badly injured she is. Not sure if its something to laugh about

                    what with Carlton Cole getting arrested for drink driving, Pinnear for assualting a woman, surely the clubs need to knock some sense into these guys about off the field behaviour!

                      My mate lives in the same flats on Sefton Park as him and Mascherano and he said it was all kicking off at 3am with Piennar and loads of his mates. Loads of shouting etc
