    Henchoz retires

    Former Liverpool player Stephane Henchoz has decided to retire from football since being unable to find a new club after being released from Blackburn. According to a swiss (??) newsstation TSR he will now focus on getting a coaching education.

    Henchoz played 135 games for us, and made a very good cen. def. team with Hyypia. Thanks for the memories and taking part of the triple winning season

    Brilliant player, very under-rated. Cool, calm and composed and most of all a great reader of the game.
    I think he's gone on record as saying he wants to go into coaching/management so i dont think we've seen the last of Henchoz in football.

      Nobody could get away with handling in the box the way he could.
      Very good player, thought he played more than 135 games for us.

        Hyypia and Henchoz were the best centre back pairing in the league for a good couple of years.

        Sad to see he's been unable to find a club. Will always remember his block from Henry's shot in the FA Cup final, brilliant save.

            He sure did, which is quite evident in that he did not score one single goal for us in 135 games!
