    Drogba's book

    Go figure

Some bizzie body upstairs either FA or UEFA are looking into what Drogba wrote about his sending off in the Champions League final. He said instead of slapping Vidic, he wished he would have punched him

Discuss. I think Keane sized fine will do.

Why fine him, you can't fine someone for thinking something or even expressing that thought.

Thought police and lack of freedom of speech spring to mind.

Load of wank if they fine him. 'Thought Police' and all that 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' Big Brother is watching you stuff.

Thats like the police coming round to my gaff saying "Sam we heard on the grapevine that you were going to smear **** all over that cunt Julian's front door, and then beat him senseless, if he graffiti's on you or your neighbours fences again. Thats gonna be a $300 fine son"

It's wrong to express a lot of free thought these days without it being construed as hate speech.

The Roy Keane thing is different as he explained his motivation for actually doing something bad.

I'm sure we've all wanted to nut the ref but I don't see that as a crime.

In the book, he wrote: "I have seen the match on video and I believe I should not have been sent off with three minutes to go.

"If I had punched him, I would have understood. Now I wish I had."

It is understood the FA is not viewing the incident in the same light as Roy Keane's 2002 book, in which the former Manchester United captain said he had deliberately injured Alf Inge Haaland.

Keane was banned for five games and fined £150,000 by the FA, but Drogba may simply be warned that his comments are unwelcome.

From the Beeb...puts it more into context...from what i can see he's saying that if you're gonna get sent off, miss a penalty shoot-out and get a 3 match ban (i assume) then you might as well do it for a good reason, not just a bitch slap.

Indeed...Keane openly admitted deliberately ending someone's career, there's a big difference between that and what Drogba said.
