Juventus lead Group H after a colossal win against Real Madrid who weren't very impressive despite the calls for the nine time champions being a dark horse. Juve started the brighter of the sides and got their reward five minutes into the game after good build up play from Amauri and Del Piero with the experienced Italian scoring from long range. Real's response was minute with Van Der Vaart shooting twice without really testing the very unreliable Alex Manninger. The second half started like the first with Juve scoring. The very hard working Amauri scoring from close range with a little help from Heinze. Schuster had to do something and decided to go for a bit of width with Robben who did swing the game in Real's favour for the majority of the second half. Van Nistelrooy, who was shoved at left wing in the first half, scored a tap-in midway in the second half thanks to some good work from Robben and Heinze. Real carried on knocking on the Italian door and got no response mainly due to the hard working pressing game from Sissoko who looked brilliant and nullifying Van Der Vaart in the second.
