      Very good.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

No Barton complaint from Agbonlahor following racism allegations
              • Midfielder avoids potential action for second time in two days
              • FA had insisted onus would be on Villa to make complaint

The Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has opted not to lodge an official complaint over alleged remarks made by Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton during Monday night's match at St James' Park.

Reports this morning alleged that Barton made a racist comment during a confrontation involving the pair following a first-half foul. However, it is understood that Agbonlahor has told Villa's manager Martin O'Neill that he does not want to take the issue to Football Association disciplinary chiefs, meaning the matter is now effectively closed. Barton is also understood to have categorically denied the allegations.

The FA earlier insisted the onus was on Villa to make a complaint if they felt the incident warranted one. "We are aware of the rumours circulating but it is difficult to comment any further on something that has no further substance to it," they said in a statement. We take seriously any allegations of racist abuse and will obviously act accordingly if we receive any official complaint from Aston Villa."

It is the second time in two days that Barton has avoided potential disciplinary action over the incident during Newcastle's 2-0 victory. Yesterday, the FA revealed the controversial midfielder would not suffer further action for flicking Agbonlahor's face during the same exchange.

This is why I was in two minds about posting the version of events which was more damaging to Barton. Could ladies and gentlemen in the media have made up the allegations of racism to spice up the story?

                  Surely not.

Possibly although I don't think Joey Barton can really complain about to damage to his reputation.
