That's just it, if they have a few more injuries, it will have an effect on their season, so this can only be a good thing for us.Originally posted by Cacodemon View PostI rate him as a player, so United not having access to him is good news for us but they do have plenty of depth in the midfield so as long as Carrick remains fit they shouldn't miss him too much.

He isn't actually a holding midfielder. One of the great myths doing the rounds of the uneducated football fans circuit. If he was he'd have played there in the CL final and Ferguson would actually trust him to play the position. Mascherano is a holding midfielder, Hargreaves has no tactical sense and runs around a lot. Ferguson would play Carrick in that position 10 times out of 10 over Hargreaves.
No real loss for them. Ronaldo, Rio, Carrick and Rooney are the players they wouldn't want to lose, trust.

Stop saying 'they' and I like the sly dig about us being 'uneducated'
I personally think if you play Carrick and Hargreaves, you have a very solid base for your attack to go and attack. Carrick doesn't have a strong enough tackle or bite to him whilst Hargreaves does. Hargreaves passing is poor whilst Carrick's is clever and intuitive. They can complement each other but since Hargreaves hardly plays, United won't miss him as much.
