Maybe a bit ****ed up in the head but that lad can fairly play football.

It's hard to compare him to any player past or present because he's very unique. He's a joy to watch when he plays like he did against Hull today.

Very good player but hard to fit into a team. That said surely it has to make sense to drop Vassell to add a more defensive minded midfielder to allow SWP and Ireland to bomb forward. I worry that Man City will be looking for someone in that role and that with their new found wealth their targets will include Alonso (as well as possibly Barry).

Back to Ireland he has some lovely skills and a great shot. If he learns to be more selective with his runs and settles in a position he will go far. He has responded excellently to the prospect of more competition at Eastlands.
