"I ask myself every day if I'm the right man for Sunderland," he said after that defeat.
"I asked myself this morning, and I said I was. Sunday morning, if the answer's no, we'll have to look at it. If I'm still not sure after than I'll ask Triggs the dog. He always gives me the right answers - he's the one who told me to sign Chopra"
Monday I asked myself if i am a manager
took chopra for a drink on tuesday

He has bought a lot of ****e players, Diouf, Chopra, Chimbonda, Yorke, Greg Halford (£2.5M???). I suppose you get what you pay for. Paid over the odds for Gordon too.
He can't say he wasn't supported by the board. Only has himself to blame IMO.Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

From the bbc gossip doodad:
Roy Keane became so elusive at the end of his reign as Sunderland boss that he resigned by text message. (Various)
Keane resigns as Sunderland boss
Keane felt he had lost the Sunderland dressing room but also believed the club's board were no longer behind him following the arrival of millionaire American businessman Ellis Short. (Daily Express)
Short's criticism of Keane's spending spree of over £70m in the transfer market tipped the former Republic of Ireland international over the edge. (Daily Express)
Keane's departure sparked celebration among the Sunderland squad. (Daily Telegraph)
Allardyce is the leading contender for the job and 'friends' have confirmed he is interested. (Daily Mirror)
But Allardyce faces surprise competition from Celtic manager Gordon Strachan while David O'Leary, Alan Curbishley and former England boss Steve McClaren are also in the frame. (Daily Mirror)
Hull City boss Phil Brown - a Sunderland fan - is another contender. (Various)
Brown is Sunderland's number one choice and the Black Cats would appoint Allardyce as director of football if it helped secure the services of the Tigers manager. (Daily Express)
Zenit St Petersburg manager Dick Advocaat and former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier have also been linked with the Sunderland post. (Daily Mirror)Last edited by dww; 05-12-08, 12:13 PM."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

It would be a mad choice considering the relative positions of the two clubs. While Sunderland do seem to have more money I'm not sure how much use it is as very few players seem keen to move their. I guess he did well recruiting people to Hull but I don't imagine either team would find it easy to attract really top class players.Originally posted by Darkon View PostIn the rumour mill I have seen Phil Browns name come up as a potential candidate... Think he refuted the idea on the spot though saying he is commited to keeping hull in the PL"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
