I don't think it's luck. It's more the fact that there is no outstanding team in the league this year. The chasing pack seem a lot more capable of taking points off the big four. That can only be good for all concerned and make for a more interesting competition.

Listening to Graham Taylor on the radio, he was saying that none of the top four are really consistent enough which makes it a good thing for the neutrals but he let himself down by saying 'watch out for Villa'

Spurs are a very good side and Newcastle are an established, experienced Premier League team.

So yes, there's a fair bit of difference.
Not a great example to back up your points - Spurs were total gash at the begining of the season when they played Chelsea, their confidence was totaly shot and they possibly had the worst form in the premiership. Hull have looked a much better side than Newcastle this season and have already beaten them away from home and are 8 points better off overall.

The bottom line is - don't you think that Chelsea fans will be looking back at the home draws against Newcaste, Spurs and West Ham and thinking that they should have won all these games?

I would agree, it means their is likely to a much closer challenge this season and since if we can keep at the top of the home and away form charts (we are 2nd in both) we can challenge.

To be fair I think they will make a battle for 4th with Arsenal.

I assumed he meant that Villa could contest for the title.

Good team, but I think they lack the squad depth.

Agree. They'll do well to snatch fourth spot. The way things are panning ut they have a real chance as long as they keep Young and Agbonlahor fit.

Spurs are clearly better than anyone in the bottom half of the table, and arguably 6th best side in the league.

Regardless of what anyone says about Hull, who have done brilliantly, the fact is Newcastle and Spurs are established PL clubs - right or wrong?

Hull are beyond their wildest dreams and Newcastle are considered to be having a nightmare season. Why do you think that is?

Perversely, they would benefit from going out of the UEFA Cup.

What are you actualy disputing here Craig? You just seem to be arguing for the sake of it now.

Do you think for one minute that Chelsea won't consider drawing at home against Spurs, Newcastle and West Ham as points dropped? Do you think they will be pleased and say 'oh at least we got a point at home against these three struggling yet established premier league clubs'. Of course they won't - they'll be saying the exact same thing we are saying about our home draws.

They've done it against 2 sides they should be beating with their eyes closed. Spurs are a good side and it's a derby (like WHU), so i dont count that as a 'banker' for them.

We've done it against 4. I think it's a bit worse, but if i express that view, i'll be arguing for the sake of it (apparently), so i'll just wish you a good night.

Ironically, that's the first post of yours I've read in a while that doesn't come across like you're an argumentative twit who knows better but simply that you have your point of view (to which, naturally, you're perfectly entitled).

                                Good night.
                                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
