    Lassana Diarra

Sky Sports breaking news: Portsmouth accept bid thought to be ~£20m for Diarra.

Good player, but £20m??? Credit crunch indeed

I seem to remember reading that he had a release clause in his contract that allowed him to leave if a big club came in for him. Maybe there's a minimum fee in there too?

Pompey are making some pretty big money from selling players recently, didn't they get £16million for Muntari?

    Wonder why they're so skint?

      Real Madrid & Ramos, apparently.

      Laughable amount of money.

Crazy crazy crazy. Although Real are a bit desperate for that type of player with the other Diarra out for the season. But still, £20m for a player who was sold by both Arsenal and Chelsea?

Someone offer them Pennant and Dossena, the pair a bargain at £30m

seems he's gonna be the new anelka, he's still 23 so has all the time in the world to swap a couple of more clubs and ad to the transfer fee sum..

Madness - in the space of two years he will have played for Chelsea, Arsenal, Portsmouth and Real Madrid and whatever French club Chelsea signed him from. That's a whole career packed into a couple of seasons right there.

He's a good player but he's nowhere near £20m worth.

While it is a huge fee I think that for the right club that sort of player can really knit a team together. I would think that Man City and Real would both be thinking he might really help them. I'm also always suspicious of all reported fees.

They have a huge wage bill - last year it was something like 70% of their turnover and a large chunk of that Muntari fee would have bought Crouch.

What I wonder is how long he's going to last at Madrid. It seems to be a club that chews players up and spits them out. I'd bet that he'll last a year or so before Ramos gets sacked and/or he falls down the pecking order when players come back from injury or new signings are made.

To be fair he is better than Mascherano according to Charlie Nicholas.
