he's ****in aged bigtime in the last few months.

also heard an interview on the radio with him this evening where he constantly stressed the inadequacy of his players in a way that would suggest that he couldn't be popular with them. he went on and on about the need to bring in quality etc... was embarrassing really. always struck me as being a bit of a cunt actually.

I'm quite surprised he has lasted as long in the job as he has to be honest. I never like to see Managers sacked but for them to be in the relegation zone at this stage of the season is shocking.

A point today would have got them quite high. They have enough quality to climb out of that. There are a number of problems with the side:

a/ The full backs aren't real top six standard
b/ Micah Richards is absolutely pants this season. He can't defend to save his life. His head has been stuck up his own arse, if truth be told with everyone waxing lyrical over him last season
c/ Richard Dunne's touch looks like he will give away a goal
d/ Kompany and Fernandes don't have the experience or the steel to play the two holding midfielder roles. Very athletic and all that but mentality look a bit weak.
e/ The three attackers are quite good and I wouldn't change anything.
f/ They need a new striker. Someone who can hold the ball up and let Wright Phillips, Robinho and Ireland advance the play. Caicedo came on and looks overweight but he did have a bit of power about him. Jo is wank.

Some of his decisions this season have been baffling and he only has himself to blame.

Any Premiership manager who picks Vassel ahead of Elano and pays £19m for a striker and then never ever plays him deserves to be in the relegation zone.

Elano will get sold from what I read. He hasn't really performed consistently for the team - yes, he produces glimpses of magic every so often but Hughes needs a steady side to be successful in the Premiership. He, like Petrov are only good depending on conditions.

And I don't think Hughes bought Jo - that was Sven's signing.

Manchester City have completed the club record signing of Brazilian striker Jo from CSKA Moscow. City said the 21-year-old had signed a four-year deal and though the fee was undisclosed, they said it was a club record.

City's previous record was for Nicolas Anelka's transfer from Paris-Saint Germain in 2002 for around £13m ($25.81m), and local media have speculated that the fee for Jo could be as much as £18m. Jo is the first player signed by Mark Hughes, who took over as manager from Sven-Goran Eriksson last month.

"He's a big talent and a young man with a big future," Hughes told the club website. "A lot has been said about him and there was a big expectation on him coming out of Brazil. So with the success he's had I think it's a real coup that we've been able to bring him to the club. He's a big guy, in stature and in ability, so I think everybody will enjoy watching him play."
