    David Villa

Valencia have admitted that they would be prepared to part with David Villa should their valuation of the player be matched.

The Spanish outfit are reluctant to offload their star striker, but accept that every player has his price.

With a host of Europe's top clubs believed to be sniffing around the Spain international, Los Che may see their resolve tested during the January transfer window.

It is not known what price Valencia have slapped on Villa, or his much sought-after team-mate David Silva, but the club have made it clear that it would take a sizeable approach to force them into a sale.

"Whatever offer comes in we will have to study it although the idea is not to have to sell David Villa or David Silva," said Valencia's sporting vice-president Fernando Gomez Colomer.

"It would have to be an exorbitant offer."
    Stability

Valencia may ultimately decide to cash in on their prized assets as they look to bring financial stability back to the Mestalla.

The club were on the verge of meltdown last season and remain heavily in debt despite a tightening of the purse strings.

"We will fight to give the club the economic stability that it needs," said the club's president Vicente Soriano.

"Right now that is the most important thing - more than any kind of sporting success."

Valencia have fought off interest in Villa from Liverpool and Real Madrid in the past, while Manchester City made an audacious transfer deadline day approach during the summer.

spend next summers budget on him
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

this is going to happen a lot, hawking your player to city hoping for a windfall.....but dont think Villa would go there. City offer 40mllion, Villa gets upset as its accepted, he says **** off city and signs for us for 25million sorted. Well apart from we dont hve 25 million

Don't think Villa and Torres were that good together for Spain tbh.

Can't see anything happening in this window.

City are probably the only team who could afford Villa and as others have already said I can't see him wanting to go to Eastlands.

Sounds like a deal with City is almost done and they prepare the supporters for the bad news.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Well I've never had the pleasure of visiting an Asda so I'll take your word for it.

They are desperate for Citeh to give them stupid money. Thats what they have been holding out for. Valencia's debts are astronomical. I doubt £40m will be enough if its Citeh, they will be hoping Citeh are willing to pay crazy money, like new world record £70m or something.

Thats what City get for boasting about their wealth and how they were going to spend spend spend

£70m is a drop in the ocean for City so they would probably be prepared to pay that.

It's winning that counts for them, not how much money they spend.
