    Undisclosed fees?

    Why?

Surely this must get released somewhere.

I'm sure Man City's will be all undisclosed this window and
why wasn't Robbie Keane's transfer undisclosed?

Is it down to the seller or the buyer.

Usually down to the buyer. Man City don't want anybody to know how much they are spending this transfer window so that clubs don't keep asking for huge fees. They have realised that if they go public that they spent massive amount of money on Bridge then clubs will want big money for their players too

But surely everyone knows they've got buckloads of cash anyway?

Aahhh but Mark Hughes and Garry Cook are making an effort to tell everybody that they won't pay over the odds for players so that clubs lower their asking prices

So as a fan of a selling club, surely you would want to know how much you got for your player.

          e.g.

Pompey chairman has said that they will only sell Defoe for a silly amount.

If they then sold for an undisclosed, then as a fan I'd be pretty pissed off.

Man City and Chelsea are both private companies

I guess leaving fees undisclosed helps cover a number of issues, including performance related payments, not letting other clubs know how much money you got for a player (which could push up prices for players you want) or so the fans don't know you sold a good player on the cheap
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Spurs are a PLC so have to confirm fees whereas the like of us, city or chelsea are private companies. When a private company is dealing with another private company, fees can be announced as undisclosed to public. When dealing with PLCs, buying or selling, all deals have to be announced due to shareholder & stock market regulations.
                Hope this helps!

Nobody actually knows, after player cuts, agents fees, backhanders etc, and fees are paid in stages and rises depending on sucess etc, the real payment is lost in the mist of time, the contracts are to bloody complecated for normal mere mortals to actually work out.

Would you reveal how much you paid before tax?...
