    It just makes you realise

How good a manager Mourinho is.

Everyone dismissed it as 'its easy with all the money', but i think it's clear that under Grant and Scolari, Chelsea dont look as strong and driven as they did under Mourinho.

It's no coincidence that they now look so vulnerable and lacking in passion.

It's easy to say it was just about the money, but with more or less the same squad, neither Grant nor Scolari have produced the same level of performance from Chelsea.

Mourinho's side werent setting the world on fire in terms of flair or anything flashy, but they were winners and powerfully driven.

Under Scolari, Chelsea look weak, hollow and vulnerable.

The difference, for me, is the manager.

Aye there is alot of truth in that to be fair, as much of a ****** that he was/is he did produce the goods for them.

Probably a statement seeing he ended his stint with "I'm on Setanta"

Mourinho is a much better manager and thats the main difference, but this squad is also weaker than the one he inherited.

It's not THAT much weaker, to justify the difference in performance.

Grant and Scolari haven't had the same amount of money to bring in the players that they want though, have they ?

Even so, Mourinho did do a great job there, 'cos he's a great manager. Cunt though.

They havent had the 'same' money, but they've had basically the same squad that the money bought.

Tell you what if Jose was LFC manager this season we would be about 10 points clear at least. He really does know how to get his teams to dig in and turn draws into wins and he puts teams out designed to win the game rather than try and stop the other team winning. Top Top manager and all the people on here calling him a cunt would worship him if he was LFC manager.

i think Scolari should have got in another attacker/striker in the summer, their front two dont seem to be gelling

The main advantage the JM had was that the squad then had 4 top class wingers in it - Cole, Robben, SWP and Duff. He would use these as his main way to win games. He'd start with 2 from the start and then after 60 or 70 minutes when they'd tired themselves out he'd bring on another 2 top class wingers to terrorise the tired defenders for the last part of the game. Out of these 4 players only Cole remains and even he seems to be a shadow of the player he was then. There was much more attacking threat in the Chelsea squad a few years ago compared to now.
