Out of these 4 players only Cole remains and even he seems to be a shadow of the player he was then. There was much more attacking threat in the Chelsea squad a few years ago compared to now.
This is true, but the current chelsea is deemed to be more attacking than Mourinho's side. Which is strange.

That Utd side may have been poor, but they showed more hunger to win and that is something we need to start showing - it is in our hands, if we want this we have got to step up to the plate and perform, consistently.

Chelsea do miss Mourinho, that is undisputable.

It is also worth noting how Chelsea have begun to slide as Roman has pulled back from the heavy investment of his early years. Given the current financial situation Chelsea could end up in a mess if he pulls out.

I read somewhere else today that someone described Chelsea as a slow puncture, which is fairly apt in my opinion. I think winning the two league titles under Mourinho may prove to be the peak of the Abramovich era, especially as a lot of their key players are now moving into their early thirties and just past their peak.

I don't think they have ever spent enough on replacements for Robben and Duff (or come to that Makelele). The rot had already set in at the end of the Mourinho era. He undoubtedly did a very good job but he was also in charge of a much better squad in my opinion which was helped by having effectively limitless funds.

Don't you think Drogba has been very ordinary thus far, yesterday vs the Mancs he was totally ****e i remember one of his shots flying out for a throw in he looks totally de-motivated.

Thats the thing about old maureen he seemed to get the most out of his players and the vast majority seemed to love him too.
                    We come not to play.

                      I don't buy it.

Mourinho has unlimited funds and basically he got every player he wanted. Scolari has been given jack**** in comparison - don't forget he wanted to sign Robinho and it looks like he has to sell before he buys in this transfer window.

I can only agree that Mourinho is 1) a cunt, and 2) a very good motivator.

To be honest he looked to have lost some of his magic last season, although he was injured a lot.

Drogba has really only had one outstanding season for Chelsea. There's no doubting his talent, but for a player with such a big reputation he hasn't delivered for them often enough, although as you say that can be partly attributed to injury.

I think that is a very harsh assessment of him. I think in general his first season with Chelsea is underrated. To be fair to him last season despite not looking at his peak he still scored at better than a goal every other game.
