FFS Scolari has only been there 5 minutes and has inherited a largely ageing squad. I dread to think what he could have built at Chelsea if he was given an open cheque book like Mourinho was.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostSo Mourinho wins 2 league titles and Scolari (and Grant) between them, with the same squad win nothing (likely outcome) - and you dont think it had anything to do with Mourinho?
Mourinho will never ever be welcome by me at Liverpool because of his total disrespect towards the club and Rafa during his time at Chelsea. How the **** any Liverpool supporter can champion his cause is just beyond me. I mean, are we that ****in desperate?!!
He had his chance before Rafa was givn the job and didn't take. Too late now - I don't do sloppy seconds unlike some in here...."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I wasnt 'championing' his cause, but i'd have him at LFC simply because i'm convinced he'd make us champions. Most people apparently prefer to win the league rather than secure the long term future of the club by seeing the yanks off, so yes, it appears that we're are indeed '****in desperate'.Originally posted by looprevil View PostFFS Scolari has only been there 5 minutes and has inherited a largely ageing squad. As for Scolari, he inherited virtually the same squad that Mourinho dominated the Premier League with and is struggling quite a bit. He's done nothing of value in club football and i'd wager that he'll be dismissed before next season.
'Sloppy seconds' ? This isnt kiss chase in the school playground.

Well mate, as far as I can see we are doing pretty well right now and Rafa will be here a very long time still.
Wake up to the reality that Scolari has inherited the same players but a totally different mentality at the club now. Also, the key player for Mourinho's Chelsea was Makelele. If he was in his prime in Scolari's Chelsea I think he would be worth at least the 4 point gap between us and Chelsea so far tbh."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." True, but as Mindgeurillas said earlier you can't overlook the importance of the wingers..there's light years between the ones Jose had and Malouda/Kalou. Cole's been out injured and Drogba has been injured/playing like a dogturdOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostI wasnt 'championing' his cause, but i'd have him at LFC simply because i'm convinced he'd make us champions. Plus Jose came in at the start of the revolution somewhat..a few years down the line post-Grant the Drogbas etc are looking a bit jaded in comparisonSack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

Do you not think the manager influences the mentality at a club?Originally posted by looprevil View PostWell mate, as far as I can see we are doing pretty well right now and Rafa will be here a very long time still.

I do take all that on board and i agree that it plays a part, but the difference between Mourinho's Chelsea and Scolari's Chelsea is far bigger than the changes warrant IMO.Originally posted by wiw View PostTrue, but as Mindgeurillas said earlier you can't overlook the importance of the wingers..there's light years between the ones Jose had and Malouda/Kalou. Your point re Drogba is true also, but i'd argue that Drogba was lively under Mourinho because Mourinho got that out of him. Scolari and Grant havent been able to motivate Drogba because they're not in Mourinho's league.
When it comes to getting the best out of what he's got, i struggle to think of anyone better than Mourinho.

Could Mourinho have won the CL in 2005 with our players then? Don't think so. He may be a good motivator but tactically he is Rafa's bitch.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI do take all that on board and i agree that it plays a part, but the difference between Mourinho's Chelsea and Scolari's Chelsea is far bigger than the changes warrant IMO.
