    Sporting weekend hit by weather

    BBC SPORT, 2009/02/07 10:38:44 GMT

The adverse weather conditions are continuing to disrupt the weekend's sporting schedule across Britain.

Saturday's Championship games between Barnsley and Crystal Palace, Charlton against Cardiff and Watford versus Southampton have been called off.

Eight matches have already been postponed in League One as well as one Scottish Cup game.

Racing has also been affected with Newbury's high-profile card among those called off but Kempton goes ahead.

The Newbury card was due to see the reappearance of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Denman in the Aon Chase after he was treated for a heart problem.

However, the race has been switched to Kempton on Saturday.

But Saturday's football programme has been hit by the weather.

As well as the Championship games, eight games have been called off in League One - Bristol Rovers v Huddersfield, Colchester v Stockport, Hereford v Brighton, MK Dons v Crewe, Peterborough v Carlisle, Scunthorpe v Cheltenham, Swindon v Southend and Yeovil v Northampton.

It leaves just three matches going ahead in the division.

              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

OK although I don't really believe you.

                    City 0-0 Boro

Boring game, some poorly taken chances, there should have been goals. Both teams cancelling each other out. City have pace but no height up front. Boro have loads of height at the back but no pace up front.

Bellamy. Fine finish with his right foot from the inside left area of the box.
