And a team built around him. He simply doesn't fit in rigid systems, he might struggle at some tactical set ups. He has done well tonight because its been a fluid Brazil side where the attacking players have had the freedom to roam in any position.

Good performance from Brazil. Italy had two goals disallowed, the first should have stood. A lot of intensity throughout the match which was refreshing and a cameo appearance from Andrea Dossena.

He hardly touched the ball as he was a late sub - made one clumsy challenge IIRC.

Grosso started at LB and was absolutely superb. Italy's best player IMO. He is a player that would fit right into our team and give us the balance down the left.

Too old now. He is very reckless with discipline which probably indicates why Benitez didn't go for him. He is winding his career down at Lyon which shows how much ambition he has.

To be fair any other year he would have got a league winners medal guaranteed (still might this year) and to play in the CL.
