Well yeah given our record against Stoke this year! Didnt we only manage a point of Reading last year too?

I should shut up really though as we still have Newcastle to come at home.

I'd actually feel quite disappointed should Toon get relegated. They are one of the big clubs in the league, and it wouldn't be the same without them IMO. Like Leeds. The league hasn't been the same since Leeds went down.

Borough and Stoke on the other hand would delight me.

I am fine with newcastle going down if that is the case, being a former big team means nothing if you are ****e - a bit different story than with leeds.

I understand the sentiment of it, but I tend to enjoy seeing smaller teams make it in the league, creating a new atmosphere to the league.

As I said earlier I think Boro and WBA are doomed, and seems to hold stick. I still believe either stoke or blackburn will follow, and whilst I would prefer the former they do seem to keep getting the points necessary...

Really. I have to say I don't really dislike any of the teams down there. I think Pulis considering the funds and lack of ability to attract players he had to work with has worked hard to get them competitive. they aren't at all attractive but I like a bit of stylistic variety in the division. I feel really sorry for Gibson and Southgate actually. They had tried to play good football and develop young players but the gamble hasn't paid off. Last Summer they had a nett spend of nought and reduced their wage budget by £7m which is bound to have an effect.

I'd like to see a big team go down as I think there has been a lot of arrogance in teams like Newcastle and Tottenham in recent years about where they 'deserve' to be.

WBA and Boro are gone. Want Stoke to go, ****e team, **** town, but think Newcastle will.

I totally agree with JohnDoe post.. but Pompey should be relegated, so they can rebuild, because they are rly in deep ****, but on the other hand, they'll loose so much needed money.

If barcodes relegate, they'll probably sell some players. What about Duff?

Southgate looked liked he was going to cry during the post match interview.

West Brom, Middlesborough and Sunderland for me. I think Newcastle have the quality like Owen and to an extent Martins which will see them through and out of the drop zone.

West Brom are gone already. Middlesborough are gone. But that final space is open to any of those 4 above. I think Stoke and Blackburn will survive. That leaves Hull, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Newcastle still in with a shout of securing that final relegation spot

I agree. I think it's the Baggies, Boro and the Barcodes.

I actually think Boro are going to win their next two games and reignite their hopes of staying up.

If Newcastle lose to Stoke, it's almost over for them.

I really fear for Newcastle. Firstly because I live up he and if the reaction to going down is anything like when they got beat in the cup final the place will get smashed to pieces. People were ripping phone boxes out and all sorts that day.

But secondly I'm not sure if they will be able to get back up. Their wage bill must be out in space somewhere and I'm not sure if they could really command big fees for any of their bigger earners (no one will pay big money for Duff, Owen will be off, Barton has pissed his career up the wall etc) the only two they might get much back for are Bassong and Martins and that won't represent much. They are going to have to sell at huge losses just to keep the running costs down and I'm fairly sure that attendances will go throught the floor (regardless of the blind followers they have). It will cripple the club, and morally cripple the city and I'm not sure if the comedy value of seeing them relegated is really worth seeing the longer term effects. Plus they've got so much debt that without the Premier League for a few years they could end up going the way of Southampton.

But face it, they we're spoilt under Keegan and Robson and punched far above their weight. At best they are a mid-table team and at worst should be scrapping just above the bottom places. Maybe this will serve as a much needed reality kick to the Toon and the moronic majority, although having lived and worked in the North East for 28 years I can't see it happening.
