Roy Hodgson - Thoroughly Nice Chap

First this prick says last week, that Liverpool and Chelsea shouldn't expect any favors from Fulham. Then he says this:

We'll try hard to do Manchester United a favour claims Fulham's Roy Hodgson

    Mar 24 2009

By Adrian Curtis, Liverpool Daily Post

FULHAM manager Roy Hodgson insists his side can still have a major say in the destination of the Premier League title.

The Cottagers still have to face Chelsea and Liverpool before the end of the season and Hodgson’s side are brimming with
confidence after their 2-0 defeat of league leaders Manchester United on Saturday.

Hodgson is already relishing Liverpool’s visit to Craven Cottage on Saturday week and their trip to Stamford Bridge in May.

“We will be doing our very best to make certain that the performances we give against Liverpool and Chelsea are in no way
inferior to the performance we gave against Manchester United,” declared Hodgson. “We will work very hard, we will do our very best, and we will try and get points off them.”

But Hodgson was quick to warn Anfield manager Rafael Benitez and Chelsea’s Guus Hiddink that they will have no easy ride
    against them.

Except he doesn't actually say that does he. He just says they will try and create the same level of performance against us as they did against the Mancs.

That's terrible, a manager wanting his team to take points from other teams. Whatever next?

Seems perfectly fair to me. The headline and what he actually says are poles apart.

This thread is out of order. His team did us a huge favour last week and he doesn't deserve this.

Nevermind, I was being over sensitive..Damn this international break.
              We will thrash them...

Did anyone pick on this (stand to be corrected on point 1)
1)Danny Murphy was the last Liverpool player to score a penalty against the scum
2)Steven Gerrard scored his first goal against Utd (penalty)
3)Danny Murphy opened the scoring against Man Utd with a penalty.
              4) hmmm maybe Emile can put one in for us
              5) expect Crouchie to pop up with a goal
              6) and hopefully Keano can put 2 past VdSar

His team did us a favor - I think Liverpool did everyone else a favour by thrashing Man Utd at OT. ( yes they did do us a favour)

Agree he's not said anything bad, just looking out for his team. The same team that had me dancing around at 5pm on saturday!
This city has two great football teams – Liverpool and Liverpool reserves

It's almost as if he is only concerned with the performance of his own team

First he calms fans and players expectations down by saying don't worry about the result against scum, just go out and do your best.

Now he's putting his players (and his fans, who will put the the players) under pressure again saying he expects the same from them against us. I think Roy's f*cked up here, lets hope his boys cease up like the Villains.

If I was Roy, I would have said "manure had an off day, Liverpool are on form and will be harder. Don't expect the same against them". That would have made more manageriel sense as the players could have relaxed again and played in the same carefree way.

                              Nice one Roy.
