He got the high tempo, but it was from Porto!

In all seriousness, where was the midfield? Did United play anyone there? I though after the first half Ferguson would change it, but did he ****!

Every time Porto got the ball forward they were 3 on 4 at least. Where was Scholes, Carrick and Fletcher? They miss Hargreaves...........

So much for the Villa game being the turning point in their season. I pointed out it would take more than that and I was right. It's not that United are playing poorly, it's the fact they are shattered. Adrenaline can only take you so far. I knew Porto were not as rubbish as Joe and Craig were making out - but a fit and on form United side would have carved them to pieces.

When will people listen and realise that United are out on their feet? They are ****ed and it it will take more than a lucky win to get them back into top gear.
      Forwards.......

Fair play Dan, you were spot on about how much the fatigue would impact them.

Porto proved to be an established side, i hope the same impact occurs against Sunderland and Pompey.

As Chris alluded to earlier in the thread, if Jones and Cisse are at it (unlikely I know) they can beat United. They're so vulnerable. Neville has become an utter liability, Evans is turd, Vidic having a torrid time, Scholes past it (how many times did he give the ball away tonight?!), Evra struggling, VDS dodgy and Ronaldo....well I honestly believe he's a bit of liability when backs are against the wall.

Depends how much of a game Sunderland give them really. If they end up strolling the game I fully expect Porto to see a very different Man Utd next Wednesday.

Having said that, if Sunderland push them I could easily see the Mancs going out of both the Champions League and FA cup in successive games.

Mainly because Martin O'Neill is an absolute muppet.

They're just not making the ground up cos they're knackered. Creating **** all as well. They mirrored them 4-3-3 at first then pushed Fletcher out wide..why play expansively when you're clearly shattered? Seemed mad to play such an open game

Porto kept the ball well and had strikers who held the ball up well. I doubt Sunderland will do similar. But if Sunderland attack often they will find serious holes in the United team.

They just need to set a high tempo and not sit back too often.

But i've expected that of them ever since we beat them, they still just keep playing poorly for a side of their stature, maybe something is happening here, don't know what as i can't explain it, fatigue as many have said is a lot to do with it, and they have lots of games to come too, so that shouldn't improve, bust most of all i think it's their mentality that seems to be effected, through fatigue or whatever, but i do think there's a big chance we 'won't' see a different utd at Porto, here's hoping anyway.

Because Ronaldo is the only player that can drag them back into games at the moment. He gambled on giving Ronaldo a free role (ala Stevie G) and it didn't really pay off.

Mind, I can see Rooney looking up for games and it may end up with them needing him to save them with Ronaldo not feeling it at present.
