The way our season has gone I'm praying that lady luck is with us and we just have to wait. Utd couldn't really get luckier if they tried, but it's all setting up nicely for their season to implode

I think Arsenal will knock them out too

If we don't win the league it would be one of the lowest footballing ebbs ever.

The general consensus from United fans, I have spoken to, is that this is their best chance of winning the title. Next season, they believe we will become stronger and Chelsea with a solid manager will challenge us.

How wrong would that be? I can almost see it happening the way they are getting the results whilst playing ****e. You just know they'll start to play well soon.

Our game against Arsenal next week is crucial...lose and it's season over IMO

If they end up winning four or five trophies I'd feel like giving up football.

Really? They have had a full strength squad for the majority of the season besides Ronaldo for like six weeks and are crawling to the title. With Torres out for the majority of the first half of the season, we were top and are rapidly on their arses. Also, Chelsea were without Essien from September to now and are only four points off. He is worth more than four points, thats for sure.

But you wouldnt. You'd just hate them even more.

We'll do them in the league, Arsenal will do them in the CL and Everton or Chelsea/Arsenal will do them in the FA Cup.

Hrm perhaps..we would obviously be better equipped mentally for the slog next season and being top..just feel that this season, before Feb at least, would be our best shot at it. We are looking very strong though

I felt we were overachieving during Christmas but now with the pressure off and the confidence following the United win, the team looks as if they can mount a challenge. The draws at home have really cost us, I almost feel that the wins against the top four are a bonus, if you win the majority of your games. We unfortunately have drawn far too many at home, the top four wins have supplemented that and we are so near yet so far from the top spot.

United have slipped into the 'just do enough' mode that i've accused Rafa of earlier this season. We've come right out of it, they're right in it.

If they stick with this mentality, better sides will punish them. Possibly starting with Arsenal in the semi finals, although you'd think the mancs would be more up for that one.

I'm not too down about them going through, their schedule is going to be really punishing now:

19th April: Everton (n) (FA Cup)
22nd April: Portsmouth (h) (Premier League)
25th April: Tottenham (h) (Premier League)
29th April: Arsenal (h) (Champions League)
3rd May: Middlesbrough (a) (Premier League)
5th May: Arsenal (a) (Champions League)
10th May: Manchester City (Premier League)
13th May: Wigan Athletic (a) (Premier League)
16th May: Arsenal (h) (Premier League)
24th May: Hull City (a) (Premier League)
27th May: Potential Champions League Final
30th May: Potential FA Cup Final

I dont care how good a team is, 10 games (minimum) in 34 days will take it's toll on anyone. There's a fair chance of them resting players for the Spurs game. If Arsenal get a decent result in the CL 1st leg, then the mancs will definitely rest players for Boro away.

That's a hugely punishing schedule and they've already been looking jaded, with a lighter run of games. Looking at it that way, it's good news for us that they won tonight.

Well let's ****ing hope so. My main concern is that if we **** up against Arsenal next week the pressure will be off somewhat.

I'm pretty confident we wont lose but i could see us drawing. Did they pick up any more injuries tonight?

I dont think they did, but it'll be their third game in 7 days and the least important. We'll have had a week's rest and be fresh. Plus the crowd will be up for it and Arsenal have nothing to play for in the league.

Cant see them putting too much into the game.
