I'm not stooping to their level wiw. I'm not calling them murderers or going about trying to start trouble or anything. I'm just not reacting to their abuse with embrace and applause. And i'm not going to want them to win the FA Cup.

I'm not responding to their actions with more of the same.

I can see them changin, but only if we change our stance towards them...we have to be the bigger fans here...if you call out other fans, and they don't respond, or if they respond with positive chants towards you, what then? Carry on your derogatory chants and end up looking like complete ****s, or start singing about your own team instead?

I think that the whole argument with Everton has gone on long enough. The City used to pride itself on having a "Friendly" derby day, with fans that were the envy of every other club. I would love that day to return, and the only way it is going to happen is if both sets of fans grow up. It only takes one rock to start an avalanche and all that, so if that rock is a bunch of Everton fans and a JFT 96 flag, and a bunch of mature, sensible reds, then great.

Course, we could just carry on being bitter and vindictive towards each other, have a hate filled rivalry and lose the "merseyside" tradition altogether, which is what you seem to be advocating? Or some of us could extend a hand towards our less fortunate brethren, and get back to the way Liverpool used to be.

I have nothing but respect to the lads who took the flags to Wembley and i have no problem generally with Everton fans.

But people who go around calling me a murderer and the like, can **** off.

I'm not going to extend the hand of friendship to people who spend the majority of a game abusing me.

Bar calling them "bitter bluenose ******s", "cunts" and stating that they call all "**** off"...not quite on the level of some of their insults, but words that would certainly start trouble in any normal society.

You don't ignore it, you rise to it, which plays right into their hands...or is your internet persona differentfrom your everyday persona, and in reality you don't act like you do on here towards them?

I think you're a little confused here. I am perfectly capable of giving credit to teams when they deserve it. I just dont WANT them to win the FA Cup, that's all really. Not giving them credit and not liking them are totally different things.

You like being all chummy with one of our fiercest rivals. You like having them slag you off and call you a murderer, but you're still chummy with them. That's fine.

I dont really respect people who go around calling us murderers, but if you're happy with it and want to put an arm around them, that's your business.

I'm with Scratch, there's only one team from the north west I wouldn't want to beat Chelsea and no prizes for guessing who. I want Everton to win the cup now they're in the final against Chelsea, they're our (smaller ) neighbours and the two clubs are connectedd by location, tradition and family. A few ****s shouting 'murderers' or one of their players getting the wrong end of the stick won't change that.

Not really. I've been in the crowd and heard it and I think the individuals are idiotic, but it doesn't create ill feeling within me toward people or instituitions that have done nothing to deserve it. That would just be daft.

Maybe if you had some Evertonians in your family you'd appreciate that the idiotic element within your support does not define you, only how you behave does.
