    Just a big coincidence

    Posted on another forum:

Home to Bolton - Shocking penalty decision at 0-0, Mancs go onto win the game 2-0

Home to Blackburn - Blackburn player pulled down in the pen area when through on goal, no penalty thus no red card given

Home to Everton - Blatant foul on Lescott in the penalty area, not given

Home to Pompey - Two goals scored from an offside position

Home to Villa - Young blatantly fouled before the winning goal was scored

Home to Spurs - Shocking penalty decision given and an offside goal to bring the game level at 2-2
How many points would that lot equate to? It's no wonder we cant win the title.

    Bolton - 2 points gained
    Blackburn - 2 points gained
    Everton - 2 points gained
    Pompey - 2 points gained
    Villa - 2 points gained
    Spurs - 3 points gained

13 points there. Equates to them winning four games more than us.

Mascher's free kick win today was far from a good decision. Alonso scored. **** happens. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

I have thought for some time that the disallowed goal against Stoke at Anfield would cost us. It might still be the case.
      Oh I don't know.

There's a difference between a freekick 25 yards out though, and a much needed penalty when you're 0-2 down and in desperate need to get a goal quickly.

And it does happen, sometimes good and sometimes bad.

But a third of the time? That's 6 times out of 17 home games this season.

Also notice how it doesnt seem to happen for them in the Champions League.

I think Ferguson has too much 'access' to English officials, he's too close to them and this plays a massive part. Foreign refs dont have to put up with him on a weekly basis at close quarters, they dont have to read or listen to his bile in the media, constantly trying to pressure referees and influence them.

Consequently, when it comes to European games, there are virtually none of these ridiculous decisions and also why United have had their fair share of poor decisions going against them. That's the key here - it's not about poor decisions going in their favour, because that will inevitably happen. But it's about balance - the fact is that the number of dreadful decisions which favour Man Utd FAR outweighs the number that go against them.

Precisely. Nobody can win the title with that kind of handicap. It's impossible.

Riley fails to give them a pen in the cup semi.
Ferguson bitches and whines all week about the refs
The next week, they get a dubious decision at a time they desperately need a goal.
Draw your own conclusions from that.

Exactly, said this last night, i'm getting pissed off with people comapring our free kick to their ****in pen, free kicks are given wrongly many many times, that's because a free kick isn't deemed to be a gimme as far scoring a goal go's, not as much importance placed on them you could say.

BUT A PENALTY, well imo a penalty should NEVER be given lightly, all due consideration should be given to awarding a penalty because of the importance and probable resulting 'GOAL'.

I wont bother doing it because i know what the result will be, but check out how many goals scored to FREE KICKS given against goals scored to penalties given, that's why you can never compare a poor Penalty decision to a poor free kick decision, and that, funnily enough, is why a PENALTY is called a PENALTY, because the offending side usually ends up PAYING A PENALTY, whilst with a FREE KICK, well, you just get a free kick and usually don't end up paying such a huge....well...penalty.

                              There, sorted.
