Typical Sky forgetting the clear penalty Barca should have had on Henry in 1st leg and Bojan missing with header from 4 yards.
Over the 2 legs Barca dominated and were unlucky to be down to 10 men tonight. Chavs only have themselves to blame for not being more positive with the extra man.
I've watched a lot of Barca this season and I believe they will beat United in Rome. There's just something special about this team this season. Yes they need to play better but United have played rubbish many times in last 2 months and got a result.
Abidal will be replaced by Sylvinho who is experienced and still pretty good. Puyol will play right-back with Milito or Marquez back in the centre of defence. Henry back as left forward which will enable Iniesta to return to his favoured position alongside Xavi.
And surely Messi & Eto'o will be better.
Also Barca are home & dry in La Liga and can rest players.
United can't really rest their best players such as Ferdinand, Vidic, Rooney, Ronaldo and Fletcher will be sorely missed as he is always their midfield destroyer in big games.

To be fair Sky did point out the Henry one when arguing at the end.
And I hope you're right about Barca. Because for all their pretty passing they were rubbish over the two legs and in all reality deserved nothing from the game tonight. They were the same against Man Utd last year too over the two legs.
There is something special about the premier league. There is nothing special about Barcelona who look great against teams who open up, but lack the ideas to break down a backs to the wall job. Watching them over the two legs reminded me of LFC this year before we clicked into gear. All the possession but virtually feck all chances created. And without their two full backs I dread to see what Ronaldo and Rooney will do on the flanks.
I'm sure they'll dominate possession and hopefully the big rome pitch will open up the Mancs defence more than a tight English ground.Forwards.......

United have proved this season that when you attack them, their defence can crumble and that is the difference. Chelsea are really solid and physical and almost kept Barca at bay. United will attack but won't have much of the ball and don't have the same defensive capabilities as Chelsea.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostTo be fair Sky did point out the Henry one when arguing at the end.

I can see Barca cutting United up and winning the match.

Excellent banner from the Chavs. Karma's a bitch aint it? (Pic 26)
I fear for Barca againts Utd's front 3 especially with a make shift defence in the final.

Why do you think they wont?Originally posted by -V- View PostDo not underestimate how much better Barcelona will be on neutral ground against a team that will not be able to play 8 men in defence
It'll be an 8 man defensive unit and Rooney. Ronaldo and Tevez/Berbatov doing the damage up front. It's what the mancs always do in europe, or when they play someone good.
Swamp the edge of their own box, nullify the threat and let the matchwinners win the match for you.
I just hope Barca find an alternative method for when Plan A fails.

I love it. After hearing them turds singing their '**** your history, we're going to rome' song, this is rather sweet. I almost raced down to SW6 tonight, just to enjoy the scenes

Think it all depends who gets the first goal, like most big games. A team needing a goal against Barca are in dire straits as they will easily pick holes in the space left.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWhy do you think they wont?

Man Utd like most top European sides are solid at the back and the first goal for them will leave Barca with the very difficult task of breaking them down. They extra arrow they have over Chelsea is the pace on the counter attack of Rooney and Ronaldo who are both now developing into big game players.Forwards.......

To be honest mate, the mancs will play like i described and only change it if they go behind.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostThink it all depends who gets the first goal, like most big games. But playing that way, it'll make it very hard for Barca to score. Unless Messi produces some magic, i think they'll struggle to break them down.
The mancs will do it that way and if they keep Barca out, at some point, one of Rooney or Ronaldo will produce something.
Both sides have great matchwinners, but the problem is, the mancs will happily set up to stop Barca playing. Barca wont do the same to the mancs though.

I'm with Craig. I suspect that the final will look almost exactly like the match yesterday. Barca with lots of the ball but unable to penetrate a strong, physical, well organised defence. Opposition look far more dangerous on the counter.
In my opinion Barca are simply nowhere near as good as people made out. They were the second best team in the Chelsea tie by quite a long way and United are a considerably better team then Chelsea.
Barcas only hope is a moment of magic early on I think. Otherwise I feel united will win by 2 clear goals."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View Post1st incident: watch it again. How is anything Alves is doing different to what Malouda is doing? They both throw an arm across a couple of times each. I didn't even think it was a foul. It's a 50-50 and they both went over. No penalty.
2nd incident: so he has hold of his shirt briefly. He doesn't tug him back. He lets go of the shirt, Drogba goes on and belatedly decides to fall over. Diving cunt.
3rd: blatant penalty
4th: did it even hit his arm? It's blasted at him from close in, and hits him somewhere on the shoulder/back/underside of the upper arm. And the player has his back turned.
The way the players and that lot on Sky talked was as if they were all absolutely blatant. Only one was for me, and the red card was an absolute joke (Anelka - cheating cunt with the oldest trick in the book). So that makes it 1-1 in my book.
The Chelsea theatrics both during and after the game were a disgrace. If UEFA have any balls some long bans will come of it. Sadly the referee only booked players which I think will probably take away UEFAs ability to do anything (or at least will give them an excuse not to)."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
