    How about Joe Louis? The heavyweight champion of the world signed for The Reds while he was stationed near Liverpool during the war. True, he never played a League game – but how much harder can you get than one of the greatest boxers of all time? He would kill all of them lol

              IIRC wasn't Vinnie Jones a hard *******? He scared the **** out of me when I watched us play Wimbledon. Awful team they were, full of headcases.

                    I used to know John Lukic a little bit and he once told me that the hardest player in the league was.................Steve Bould.



                    Hard to believe I suppose as there wasn't much on him but he was deadly serious and said it was pretty much widely accepted that he was the hardest around (at the time).
