Funnily enough I've just cancelled my subscription.

Just seen that Sky have refused to bail them out, I didn't think they could even if they wanted to? I would have thought the monopolies commission would have had something to say about it?

From what I read last night, it seems that they wanted to borrow £50 million off Sky in order to make their payments to the FA/Premier League/Scottish FA and then hand over the PL games to Sky.

They know they're screwed, they're just trying to get a way out of this horrible mess without going to the banks. In this climate, I don't think they offer enough to warrant us consumers paying another tenner or so a month on top of the Sky subs to pay for what little they show. I know they have UFC etc etc, but still its not enough. FWIW I think the LFC TV channel will be safe, they can move it to Sky in a similar set up to Chav TV and Scumvision

I'll be very sorry to see Sky go.

For 12.99 per month they offer an excellent range of sports.

The depth and breadth of their boxing coverage is excellent. Buncey on a Thursday afternoon is a must see. They also cover the UFC and SPL and EPL games.

Saturday night for example was going to be UFC at 8pm followed by Cotto vs Clottey. An excellent night of sports.

              Good question.

I have to admit, Setanta's been alright, there's been a good range of decent quality sports covered, obviously the Premier League, but also the european leagues too. Good boxing coverage too, as well as various other sports and their 'fans forum' show is enjoyable too IMO.

The problem has been less with Setanta, and more with the notion of having to subscribe to TWO sports channels, in order to get all the coverage.

Setanta are ****ed because they havent got enough subscribers and the reason for that is the point above. Well done EU

I think Setanta have been abysmal. Non-existent customer service, and the channels go tits up at the merest hint of inclement weather. You only need to read the readers' comments on the BBC, Guardian etc to see how many people have experienced the same.

Their coverage is poor, 'customer-service' even worse and transmission quality utterly woeful. Close the door on your way out.

As i told you before, the transmission issues are easily solved with proper dish allignment.

I've quite enjoyed having it, Craig Burley and Tim Sherwood aside.

Having said that, i have it for free.

For added expense! Admittedly not that much but having already paid for a service there is no way the customer should be expected to pay out yet again to rectify problems Setanta should be addressing. They are an utter shambles, evidenced by the inevitable slow death they're experiencing.

I agree with you, but they cant be responsible for the positions of the satellites, surely?

I don't know enough about why the problem existed but Sky don't have such issues, so what's their excuse?!

Some punters were told by their 'helpline' to "wait until it stops raining then the picture should come back"!!!!!

It's to do with which 'channel' the signal is transmitted from the satellite - most signals go down one channel, but their one is transmitted via the other - hence why the dish has to be moved, to pick it up.

Setanta's problem then - they should offer to resolve the problem and pay for it!

Too late now of course. I will be cancelling my direct debit to them and they can whistle for whatever I might owe them by the time they go bust

I dont think it's as simple as them just 'solving it'
