People who have no direct role at a club...

But still use terms like 'us' and 'we' when referring to those sides.

Clayton Blackmore's been on SSN news, doing this. You're not a part of Man Utd anymore, what's all this 'we' business?

Jason Cundy doing it now, with regards to Chelsea. Again, you're a radio presenter, you're nothing to do with Chelsea.

Bobby Charlton, a director at Man Utd fair enough, but still with no actual direct input into the club - he does it all the time.

Even Ray Wilkins, when he worked for Sky, would always refer to English clubs (apart from LFC), as 'we'.

    Idiots, the lot of them.

Yeah, but if i did, i would still refer to Liverpool as "us" and "we". Pundits are fans too...would you complain if Thompson did it, or Dalglish.

How can you include Bobby Charlton in that list? He is Mr Manchester United and definitely entitled to use "we" when referring to them.

I think it sounds pretty cringeworthy when people who are there as pundits & analysts do it.

i understand ur frustration - it's cause we aren't involved in europe this week, thats why i have avoided all media outlets to steer clear of the man u/chelsea love ins - but seriously i don't thinl there is much wrong here - as elnino says every football fan i know refers to their club as "we" - and i'm cetain i have heard the likes of phil thompson, ian rush even john barnes and defo john aldridge refer to liverpool as "us or "we" - but given the atmosphere this current week, and "us" not particating in Europe - i'm with you - I hate all those cunts too.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

After the Fulham game John Barnes said "we,,,, Liverpool have a chance"

Im pretty sure Phil Thommo does it. Shows he loves the club. When I talk about LFC I saw 'we'. We're all in this together! We fans are as much a part of the team as anybody

Craig you are knit-picking now. Nowt wrong with saying we or us in that context.

Look, Alan Hansen or Mark Lawrenson never do because they provide expert analysis as neutrals, whereas Blackmore etc are invited to speak on SSN because of their direct link with the club.

Exactly. When we play on the box chances are they will invite a former player from each team into the studio - the point is that they want the perspective from that angle.

Because they are fans craig. I call Liverpool 'we' and 'us' all the time. Whether its on tv or not is irrelevant

The only thing that slightly annoys me is when someone says 'we' when referring to all english clubs in europe. thats just gay
