    Nicolas Anelka

Once again went on record in saying that LFC are his club and that he wished he was still at Anfield.

Also says his best and favourite position is behind the striker.

What a signing he would be. Him behind Torres and in front of Stevie in the event of injuries. Not bad.

Wished he'd stayed back in the day and was the decision that cost GH his Liverpool job.

got to say i couldnt disagree more
he was caught offside so many times when he played for us i was amazed he couldnt grasp the idea
his record also wasnt great - think he got 3 - 2 of them v birmingham
i honestly rated him for arsenal but since then not a bit
not a "rafa type" player imo

Champions League final: Nicolas Anelka refused to be Chelsea penalty taker

Chelsea's Nicolas Anelka revealed that he initially declined the offer to take one of Chelsea's first five penalties because as a late substitute the Frenchman did not yet feel part of the game.

The France forward ended up taking Chelsea's second sudden-death kick, which was saved by Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar and secured the European Cup for Sir Alex Ferguson's side

"I said: 'No way. I came on practically as a full back and you want me to shoot a penalty?'" Anelka said before brushing off his subsequent failure.

"Good for him [Van der Sar]. That's the game," added the Frenchman.

He stated that he did not have adequate time to warm up before coming on in Wednesday's Champions League final and struggled to adjust to the game.

"I stayed 110 minutes on the bench and suddenly I was asked to play less than a minute after being sent to warm up," he said. "I don't know if it ever happened in a Champions League final, in a game so intense, that a player was sent on without having warmed up."
No player with that sort of attitude anywhere near our club thank you.

Attitudes can change and develop people - who knows what Anelka would have been like if he had stayed. Personally I think because he was so happy both professionally and personally he could have had a big impact.

Don't think he deserves half the stick he gets and is genuinely misunderstood. A cracking bloke who loves Liverpool and would have been a much better option than the real cunt who replaced him, Diouf.

Crap attitude for a talented player and he wasn't all that for us either - something like 15 apps, 3 goals.

No bottle and today proven to be a cheat. Never a LFC player.

Laddy, I met him once and he was very polite and seemed like a genuinely decent bloke.

Ask Stevie if you don't believe me.
