Because I don´t think that it has anything to do with playing english teams. It probably down to several other factors, like tactics, team quality, tempo, form etc.

These things are all "easy" to adapt to if you are a quality player (which I think he is)

Let me ask you this: In the games he has played (against english teams) has any other player impressed you?

The reason I ask is that Italien teams "always" loose to English teams nowadays, they are just not as good.

it think it's more to do with the fact, he's more suited to the serie a style of play, than the speed of the premiership. i honestly think he's struggle in england

Indeed. And they're not as good, because they dont have players who are as good. Like Zlatan.

Just a year ago he came back from serious injury and scored two decisive goals for Inter that settled the championship in the last game of the season.

Basically people saying that he´s a bottler have only seen him i CL against english teams, where he hasn´t been even near his best.

I wish he came to the premiership, he´d kick ass.
To some degree I take that point but i would suggest he has flopped in all CL games I have seen (i.e. not just against the English teams). Which if anything suggests more that he can only succeed in a weaker league where the team he is in are superior.

Well considering that he´s the best in their league (according the their players and journalists), that would mean that no player in the Serie A is any good?

That I think is entirely wrong, and basically extremely one-sided.

That Serie A is weaker league is of course true, but so is every league in the world.

It´s entirely incorrect to say that you have to have proven yourself in the CL to be able to succeed in the PL. Besides his first 4 months in the Swedish league he´s only played in the best team in "his" league, so I can´t claim that you´re wrong there

Out of his last 7 last seasons he has won the league title 6 times, that´s got to count for something? (soon to be 7 out of 8)

that way of thinking, has stopped a lot of players from this area on their way to succes

It does - he is one of the best strikers in Serie A and he is in the best team. I'm not sure that it says anything about his quality outside that. If additionally he could point to great CL or international performances against high level teams then whether or not he was suitable for the slog of an English season would and or would fit our tactics would be the only questions. As it is there are far more points for uncertainty.

Fair enough. Although I would say that scoring 20 in 56 for Sweden is quite good. Scoring 2 in 3 in the Euros last year is ok aswell (injured aswell). And in the Euros before he scored 2 in 3 (if I remember correctly) So his goal scoring ratio internationally is ok, not excellent. So it´s "just" CL...

If you just look at the player he would be excellent for every team in the PL, mentality wise maybe not so much so...

I agree, Maicon has been the best in the world this season in his position. But surely he wouldn´t be any good in the PL? good team in a crap league and all that...
