I'm surprised that Italian clubs have that much money to spend.

Although, dont they have an independent tv deal? Or used to have one?

I'm sure Juve and Milan would've stashed a few quid away from that.

Good player Diego, would've been good for us. But never tested in a top league - and yet, still costing £24m. Madness.

Gotta be worth a punt in the Italian league though surely? Big price but he has a big rep

A player like Diego needs lots of time on the ball so the Italian league will suit him

Potentially a great player, too much money for my liking though.

The Italian clubs spent quite a lot last season - nearly as much as the PL I think (or at least vaguely remember from the Guardian podcast earlier in the season). With the Euro strengthening I imagine that this season they will be very serious players in the transfer market.

not to mention juve are owned by the agnelli family, and Fiat is fast becoming europe's biggest car company, so they have quite a lot of money to spend
