before the start of this season i'd agree, but having watched owen a couple of times this year, i think he's well past it. i like the look of n'gog tbh, he has potencial that's for sure, and he's been getting better and better with each performance.

      Im currently reading Carra's autobiography-

"Michael Owen has my sympathy, not only because he ended up at Newcastle but because he had to make his children go to school there. They might have Geordie accents, for Gods sake"

Alot of people are judging Owen on what he's done 3 years or so ago, since then he's barely been fit and when he has played he has looked well below the required standard. I really hope we don't sign him because I don't believe we can rely on him
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Owen would be a great signing for us or any other club on the right wage. Hie experience would only help the likes of Nemeth and N'gog. A lot may doubt his ability, but I know you would all back him to have scored the Keane air shots this season.

LFC dominate teams and the strikers will get chances if they're in the box. Owen would score goals, no problem. Homegrown academy produced player for the CL squad too.
          Forwards.......

I don't think he'd stay fit long enough, with the system we play at the moment we need someone ro come in and cover for Torres, Owen's lack of fitness means it's likely he'd be injured/not fit enough too. I know you can't guarentee a players fitness but if we signed Owen as back up for Torres I'd feel we'd need a back up to Owen as well which almost defeats the point

If we got him on a free and he was willing to cut his wages in half then it would be a worthwhile risk IMO.

Some people are saying we don't need cover as they rate N'gog highly. Others are saying we need a top class striker to cover.

I think N'gog is close to being good enough as cover. I also doubt that a player who will act only as cover to Torres and Gerrard will be of a world class level.

These reasons are why I want Lavezzi. He can play as first choice on the LW. If Gerrard or Torres gets injured he can cover for them. If Torres gets injured play Owen. If both are injured play Lavezzi.

I've seen rumours of Everton possibly offering a pay as you play deal. We should be front of the que if that's the case.

He has the potential to be the signing of the season.

They are passionate and committed, they just think they're a bigger club than they are and have ridiculous expectations. And they don't deal well with those expectations not being met.

I seem to remember our lads being boo'ed a few times at one stage this season so they're by no means alone unfortunately.
I can remember Newcastle fans booing their own team more times in one season, than Liverpool fans booing their own team in my lifetime.

He still managed 10 goals this season despite never being fully fit.

That's in 32 appearances (though 8 as sub).

Love him or loathe him he is a predator. Give him the supply he will score goals. Not advocating him as a 1st 11 player but we need to manage Torres appearances next year. Owen could do a job. The question is could we keep Owen fit and I believe we could. BUT would Owen settle for being a squad player? Who knows!!

pay as you play deal @ 40k maybe 50k if i am feeling generous.

but i also demand world class players at anfield for this coming season.

And? They still have a few games this season but. Glass houses. Stones.

It's a completely different thing. I'm talking about something that's happened less than about 5-6 times in my living memory, compared to something which has happened more times than that in one season.
