And the other problem with callling for his head is that he is, worryingly, the best English goalkeeper.

sorry but i think he's fat and slow, just my opinion, he's got no jump power, he doesn't reach long, he's a safe keeper cause he doesn't make many mistakes, but he doesn't produce much more than what expeced of him either, but he's a a terrible start of this season an has made some costly errors, and at the start of the season James has been twice the keeper he is, but jame is abit like garcia, frustrating at times but the he pulls of the magic save, something robbo is uncapable of, and when robbos flaws have been exposed james would be a better choice (not saying he's good ennough just that he's better)...

lets hope for england you have better ones in youth teams, cause it doesn't look good for the future right now...

            Are you writing off Carson?
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

no, but he hasn't prooved me wrong either, he will not get his break at liverpool, reina is and will be the nr.1 for benitez, so he has to work wonder to get a break...

haven't seen enough of him to tell you if he will make it at the highest level, remember having high hopes for kirkland and look at him now...

and there will be a long time befor carson is given an england nr.1 run...

Fair enough, the jury's definitely still out on Carson.

As for your comments on Reina, Benitez would axe Reina tomorrow if he thought had a better replacement, as he would any player in any position. There's no sentiment with him, he's ruthless.

i agre with that, but i think reina hasto do some major cock up befor being out of favour with benitez, he seems to value his contribution in kicking up the defence and distribution more highly than most on here do, i belive...

but he would definetly kick him out if he found something better...

I know exactly what you mean but funnily enough I don't see it that way at all. I mean, I think you're right about Reina's abilities and I'm sure Rafa appreciates them but I think with him it's the little things he looks at. One big cock-up on its own changes nothing since all keepers make them. An accumulation of small errors and Rafa will make a move for someone he thinks is a better keeper. I bet has has a shortlist already of who he would buy if they became available and/or the need arose.

                      i'm sure he has

the man just loves football, he said after a few games that the league could be won on 84 points this year, and i don't think it's a shot in the blue, i actually think that i looks at it like a geme of chess, or more say poker, where he calculates odds, i think he spends his quite night's in bed with a note pad calculating the season in advansed

if there were nerds if football, his name would be in the dictionary if youl'd look it up

100% agree with your last paragraph, but James as a goal keeper just makes me nervous. God knows how his defenders feel.

Then the co commentator starts blaming the Croatia keeper; of course the fact Robinson does the same thing doesn't matter .

Funniest moment for a long time. Dont rate him anyways

If Kirkland or Carson had a run of games for the last year they would be No.1.
