I sympathise with you Shaggy. I’ve had nothing but **** this last week and a half. Utd fans coming out of the closet to gloat. No humility, no integrity.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View Post
It is, yes.
On my way home from work last night - as I'm sure you can imagine - the streets were awash with Manc red, all the pubs had United/Rome flags flying...many of which featured anti-LFC jibes. My blood boiled. I walked past one pub where a group of Mancs were chanting 'murderers'. FFS. I wanted to kick their heads in, frankly. All of them.
So you'll forgive me for going absolutely ape**** when Barca scored last night. I said to the missus that I wanted to go tearing down the nearby street where the pubs are, wearing my LFC top and screaming "**** YOU" at everybody. If I wasn't guaranteed to get my head kicked in, or murdered, I would've done.

My own theory, for what it’s worth – it comes from the manager. He may have worked wonders at that **** hole in Manchester but he’s a horrible, cunt of a man. It’s rubbed off on the players and it’s rubbed off on the fans. He hates us. Despises us. He’ll never congratulate us, he discourages his players to vote for any Liverpool player in the PFA awards, and he’s power crazed (he has far too much power over agents, other managers, the FA, the Premier League).
So, **** him! As far as I’m concerned, the gloves are off (internet hard man
). Enough of the nice stuff. **** Utd, **** Mr Ferguson and **** every Utd player. I don’t want any Liverpool player (and that especially includes Steven Gerrard) to suck-up to Rooney, Ferdinand and all those other cunts (I don’t give a flying cock that it’s ‘World Cup’ year). Rafa’s got the right idea.
One other thing (whilst I’m on my soap box), I want Rafa to pile on the pressure and play on Mr Ferguson’s ‘mediocre’ success in Europe i.e. ‘I’ve been here for five years and during that time we’ve reached two Champions League finals. It’s taken some managers over twenty years and millions of pounds to achieve the same.’, ‘Great managers are judged on their success on the biggest of stages – Europe. Bob Paisley won three European Cups in nine years. He was a TRUE great. It takes some managers millions of pounds and twenty five years to reach 3 finals.’ ‘Great clubs like Liverpool, Ajax, Bayern Munich, Milan and NOTTINGHAM FOREST have won back to back European Cups – that’s success.’
I know some forum members will disagree (Fredo, Neil
) but I’ve had enough of Utd. I don’t want us to lower ourselves to their level – we should respect their successes and their tragedies. We should, however, show nothing but contempt for their manager and their players, come next season.
Another MASSIVE game

I went into the Olympic Stadium in Athens, not knowing 100% that my ticket was genuine. Luckily, it was, but there's always that element of slight doubt if you havent got it through the club and that doubt in itself is bad enough. Not getting in, after spending all that money and putting in all that effort...well that'd be devestating. I wouldnt laugh at anyone in that position, it must've been horrific for them.

I was in work today and there are a few united fans there who didn't say a ****ing word to me. I left the gloating until the afternoon as the longer i didn't say anything the more at ease they become. Then at about 2 o'clock i put my laptop on the speakers on my desk and pumped out Freddy mercury's Barcelona and then i said that those lot wouldn't win there as Rome is our back yard. The place fell apart with laugher.
Was funny as **** the manc fans looked like they were going to cry.

I'm all for showing contempt for Ferguson. I'd just separate that from the United fans themselves. Of course that's easier said than done but...
There was an interesting little snippet on the Today Programme this morning on Radio 4. The sports bloke played a bit of Ferguson telling a journo he'd asked "a bloody stupid question." John Humphrys interrupted and asked if it was necessary or something and the sports bloke tried to justify Ferguson's outburst by saying "he isn't a politician," like that's any sort of excuse. And Humphrys, clearly disgusted, said, "Well, he could at least be civil."
Humphrys' justifiable contempt just shows how craven the sports media are - they laugh off his splenetic and vindictive displays while labelling Rafa's calculated attack "a rant."
So, let's all point out what a disgusting piece of **** he is - an excuse the self-proclaimed socialist himself used to avoid being docked points on his licence when he preferred not to sit in a traffic jam, as we mere mortals have to - but I do think that's different from taking too much pleasure from the simple fact that they only won the league and the league cup this year whereas we won nothing..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
