Leonardo has two choices - this one or PSG. Its a non brainer. Originally, Milan wanted Rijkaard or Van Basten with Leonardo looking at youth development but somethings happened along the way.Comment

I presume Berlusconi got round to looking at their recent CVs. To be fair to Rijkaard he did do excellently at Barca initially but he seemed to loose his way and couldn't get the best out of Ronadinho towards the end. van Basten however did appallingly in his only club job and clearly needs more experience before being given a big job - not everyone is going to take to club management like Guardiola.Originally posted by Joe King View Post"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Berlusconi, a few weeks ago, was warming to van Basten becoming Milan manager. Calling him his 'first footballing son' and all that. Again, van Basten, like some Dutch managers, can be quite erratic in his decision making. Whilst he is a huge hero in Milan, I would guess he would need some experienced people behind him to coach him to become a success at Milan.
Guardiola's situation is different to that of Leonardo. Whilst Leonardo has been working behind the scenes at Milan, Guardiola was responsible for the B team, the adaptation stage from La Masia (Barcelona academy) to the first team and had worked with Iniesta, Messi, Krkic before and grew up with the Cryuff philosophy of football.Comment
