Don't under estimate the Madrid banks.
    Forwards.......

I actually heard a rumour a while back that Calderon had a deal in place to sign him this summer. I also heard that Perez was trying to talk Madrid out of the deal as he came to the conclusion he could get Kaka and Ribery for the same figure of 86m Euros or so.

If they do this, and are indeed gambling against future success, and they DONT start winning Champions Leagues - what are the potential repercussions?

Sounds like they're after all 3!

Imagine if they get Ribery, Ronaldo, Kaka, Silva, Alonso and David Villa - they'll be awesome on PES 2010!

With Perez coming in I expect them to get Kaka and David Villa. Gallani made it pretty obvious that Milan need the money and are prepared to sell

With a bit of luck, bankruptcy.

I don't often agree with Fergie, but in his words:

              'I wouldn't sell that mob a virus'.
              Oh I don't know.

The spanish banks will have to decide if it's in their interest to call in the loans on a Spanish Institution like Real Madrid i suppose.

Did he say that before or after he sold them Van Nistelroy and Heinze?

I was thinking that, but how likely is it with an institution of that size?

Surely there'd always be someone who'd step in, if needed.

After, i think. Wasnt it during last summer's Ronaldo fiasco?

Indeed - but you cant see it, can you?

Real Madrid is too big to be allowed to crumble.

They'll never go bankrupt, as they're biggest cash cow in football. Perez knows that all he needs to do is spend all he's got on the very best this summer, build a team of superstars for the next 3-4 years and squeeze the money from potential merchandise, which will be huge for them.

Kaka, Ribery and Ronaldo in the same team will be unstoppable and it doesn't matter what kind of defence is behind them. They'll rip sides to shreds.

But remember Perez said that the likes of Beckham and Zidane deals were easy because of the additional income they got from sponsors, shirt sales and merchandising.

Perez will get Kaka and im sure David Villa too. Im guessing that he has already held talks with Gallani long ago about getting Kaka and remember Milan were ready to sell him in Jan. Valencia have no choice but to sell David Villa

Even with the average team they have at the moment they're still well clear as the world's richest club. They will recoup a massive amount of money through merchandising.

Real are massive in Brazil and the signing of Kaka just like Ronaldo & Roberto Carlos will ensure they maximise income from there.
