    Theo Walcott

    What's everyones views on him?
I have to say i'm not a big fan. Pace to burn however i don't see a very intelligent footballer, hardly produces a trick to beat his man, doesn't have a great first touch and certainly doesn't have great awareness of players around him - something which is vital for a forward.
I see today he's come out and said Wenger eventually wants him to be an out and out striker. Although he's still very young i just don't see him living up to all the hype.

Sure Wenger will do what he does with all his kids and turn them into a world beater...well in the coca cola cup anyway

ps not convinced by him, will go down the swp route of not a bad player, but no great player

pace is the word and i fear that is his only asset, i know people that had kids playing alongside him in the early days and they (jealousy included) reckon his speed attracted the scouts and his football brain was sadly lacking and something he would never develope.

        He's Arsenal's Babel.

There are a few Gooners at my work and none of them rate him, they say his decision making leaves a great deal to be desired.

I think the Babel comparison is pretty much spot on.

So... who here would swap Babel for Walcott then? I think I would to be honest.

I think most would. Walcott is a much more effective starter and while at the minute he is mostly a fairly one dimensional direct running option he shows signs of learning and adapting to different positions. Both need to improve to reach their potential but Walcott in my view has done more and shown more signs of continuing improvement.

Walcott started the season well but with constant injuries, he hasn't performed to that standard.
