Is this true? If so, I will keep my NexTV box for another year and get the matches on TV... anyone know the status in the USA/Canada?
Setanta's operations in US and Canada are unaffected by what happened to Setanta UK and Setanta will continue to broadcast all scheduled PL games for 2009/2010 season.

whew. Will keep my subscription. $15 a month and we get three or four games every weekend. Last season, Liverpool were on Setanta the majority of the time here, so I was getting worried.

Now that the games are going to be shown as PPV in the UK, how will it work? Will I need a sky subscription AND sky sports AND pay extra for the PPV? if i remember correctly, the last time that prem games were on PPV you couldn't pay for them unless you already had skysports..?

If the US and Canadian setanta is still showing prem games then thats great as it will mean even more streams online. I watched most setanta games streamed on the net and now we will get espn streams too. excellent

Looks like monthly payments for ESPN.

And does anyone think Setanta Ireland will still show 3pm games on Saturdays should they survive?

Says ESPN are in talks with Virgin and BT...wonder if Virgin will offer their XL customers ESPN for free, and cancel the Setanta offer instead?

END OF THE ROAD FOR SETANTA

Setanta Sport went into administration on Tuesday afternoon after the collapse of the business in Britain.

Deloitte have been appointed as administrators and the Irish broadcaster will soon cease to broadcast to the United Kingdom.

The development was expected after the Premier League pulled the plug on Setanta last week, and now the Football Association will have to find a new broadcast partner for FA Cup and England matches.

Neville Kahn, one of the joint administrators, said: "After a huge effort by the Setanta board, management team and its backers, it has not been possible to save the GB business, which will be wound down in due course."

Setanta have 1.2million subscribers and also had broadcast deals with the Scottish Premier League, the Blue Square Premiership, cricket's Indian Premier League and golf's PGA tour.

Kahn added: "This decision means that it will shortly cease broadcasting to its customers in Great Britain. However the International and Ireland businesses continue to trade on air whilst we are in discussions with parties to take these businesses on as going concerns.

"Regrettably, approximately 200 employees will be made redundant in respect of the GB business. Setanta has today suspended the collection of subscription payments from customers in Great Britain.

"We can confirm that no further monthly subscriptions or direct debits will be accepted from customers of the UK business."

It goes of air at 6pm tonight so they only have 54mins left.

So does this mean I can just go ahead and cancel my Direct Debit? I kept forgetting to ring up and cancel with them
