..and one of my favourite non LFC players of all time. Nearly all his goals were spectacular. And quite possible the greatest penalty taker the prem has seen - 1 career miss if i'm not mistaken?

I think he was offered to us when Souness was in charge, for 500k.....whether he would have joined is another matter though. Chelsea had an offer of 10m accepted many years later but he didn't want to leave the south coast.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostAye, ridiculously talented he was, and a nice fella to boot. Shame we never saw him move to a top club, would've been interesting to see how he would've done.
Made amazing goals look so simple.

That's a bit of an understatement. Anytime I've seen le Tissier talk about LIverpool he comes across as a complete cunt.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostThought of Le Tissier as soon as I saw the title. Class player and great bloke to boot for sticking with his club. Could have earned much more and earned more caps for England had he moved on, but stayed loyal.
Doesn't seem to like Liverpool much on soccer saturday mind.

As his career went on I found him more and more annoying. He was just too lazy to make the most of his talent, whether through a simple lack of ambition or perhaps lack of self-confidence. For whatever reason, he lacked, as we would say today, the right mentality.
And he's not as funny as he thinks he is..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

One thing you have to give him a lot of credit for is his loyalty to his club and refusal to transfer, however it did mean he could be a lazy sod and still be the best player on the team so he took advantage of that.
Can't say I blame him to be honest
It is a pity but, he could have been remembered as one of the greats with a little application, when you look at what he did on raw talent alone.
