They need someone who has managed successfully in one of the three major leagues (England, Spain and Italy) and has international experience, preferably at major tournaments. The right candidate should also understand that the media spotlight will be on them and should have experience at handling them. The right candidate should ideally be available right now and able to start immediately. Also it would help if they were familiar with the English game, knew the players and have had some contact with and experience of handling the labyrinthine decision-making processes of the FA.
