Chelsea reject Man City Terry bid

Chelsea have confirmed they have "completely rejected" an offer from Manchester City for their club captain and England skipper John Terry.

City also had an approach for the 28-year-old turned down in late 2008.

"It was made clear, for the second time, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject," read a statement on Chelsea's website.

The size of City's offer for Terry, who is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2012, was not revealed.

"We would like to make it clear, and we will not do so again, that John is not for sale," added the club statement.

Until they actually qualify for the Champions League they'll only be able to sign mercenaries if they want the top top players.

              Good

Man city are really starting to piss me off now. It is not down to envy due to their vast fortune but the way they are going about it. Instead of building a strong team they are just buying it and completely ****ing transfer prices and wages up.

You can't 'completely reject' something. You either reject it or you don't.

Outrageous. Don't think he's the best defender in England by a long stretch

The thing is what City are doing is the same as other clubs have done or tried to do, buy success and the argument is when we were at the top we did the same.
I have to disagree with that statement as I feel there was a bit more of a level playing field back then and yes we paid, what was then considered a lot of money for players but we actually sold success and the history of the club.

What is happening nowadays is purely about money, plain and simple. Forget the 'we are building something special here' bollocks it is about how many hundreds of thousands of pounds can I get a week and if I get a bit of success along with that then that’s great as well.

Now I don’t like Terry that much but one thing I did think is that he was Chelsea through and through and one of the last players who I would of thought would be turned by the cash of City. At the end of the day he gets paid a shed load of cash at Chelsea and has actually won things there. If he goes to City then I think you really can forget the word loyalty ever being used again in a sentence alongside footballer. It would be the equivalent of Carra going there this Summer!!!

It would be very unique if they did.

                        The "most" unique perhaps?

                          Largely correct observation.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Hold on - reverse backwards. I'm not sure what you're getting at?
