Thats such a kop out. "Transition" "building for the future" "Give this team of 13 year olds time to grow". It's all laughable and is an excuse for failure.

Their supporters are getting thoroughly ****ed off. And rightly so. Another season with no sign of progress and Wenger will be under huge pressure.

Im not talking about them growing as a team, as in young kids coming through. Im saying they aren't spending massive amounts of money like their rivals because they are builing a solid club on a solid financial footing. What Arsenal can't spend now (because of Stadium) they will be able to spend massive amounts in the future. Quite obviously they have taken the decision to sacrifice trophies in the short-term in order to build this fantastic stadium.

If you were looking at Arsenal as a you CLUB for the next 30 years would you not be quite happy to sacrifice a few years of being in 4th players in order to have a secure, prosperous and no doubt successful future?

I agree with your point in general, but there is no guarantee they will be successful. Infact, I believe Wenger had expected more from this current team and it has failed to materialise, and IMO will probably contunue to fail until he does bring in some real experienced quality players.

Their model maybe the model we'll be using if the stadium ever gets of the ground, we've spent massively on youth (as Arsenal did and still do to an extent). Arsenal usually buy one or two £10-15m players a season and then see the youth come through ultimately i reckon we'll be the same.
          We come not to play.

Tee- Ofcourse but clearly they have took the decision not buy £30m players but to instead to focus on building the club for the future. We of all people know what its like to struggle to compete because we have a smaller stadium. Arsenal won **** all before Wenger came along anyway so another 5 years of plodding along won't make a great difference. But no doubt this strategy is the correct one for them, they will reap the rewards in the future

Yep its not possible to build a stadium like that without making sacrifices or selling your club to super rich billionaires who might drop loads of debt onto it anyway

Absolutely however the people at the club feel Wenger is the right man for the job given the current constraints.

The problem with that logic is that if they don't start to compete again soon then they could well end up with a massive great stadium that they can't fill. What's more, success is also an excellent way of generating cash. If they get into a position where they can't offer Champions League football and their top players start leaving then their 'solid financial footing' will begin to look like scant consolation for failure on the pitch.

They need to keep pace with the big boys or they risk falling desperately behind.

                      Funny as FCUK.

This could be great for us if we can keep hold of Xabi and Masch.

City pissing off the other 3 and getting slated big time but great business for Arsenal if he goes though.

in tevez, bellamy, robinho and Adebayor......everyone of them are very erratic strikers who blow extremely hot and cold and all seem very surly,

Bellamy will be off to somewhere like wolves in January to i reckon.

but suppose perm 2 from 4 and it might work !!

i would rather arsenal keep Adebayor, not a big fan and it will mean more game time for Eduardo or Vela both look cracking players.

I think you will be looking at one of Adebayor and Santa Cruz spear heading the attack with between 2 and 3 of the others mentioned playing off them. Depending on whether on how they choose to accommodate Ireland.

City should be great value to watch next season though. I will give them that.
