When he left Madrid weren't there options for him to come back to England? (and other clubs in Europe for that matter). He obviously went to America for the money and to massage his ego in the hope of being the one to lift Major League Soccer up a level in popularity. He hasn't done that and the England recall means he's looking for a way out. I can't really believe that LA Galaxy let him go on loan to Europe, as I had a sense that this would lead to he wanting to leave
