Pompey - the new Man Citteh??

More Arab cash to be ploughed into the Prem?

Portsmouth's Galacticos: Diego Maradona to bring Aguero, Eto'o, Villa and Silva to Fratton Park, claim Arabs

Diego Maradona believes he would be able to bring four of the world's biggest stars to Portsmouth, it has been claimed.
Shock appointment: Diego Maradona has been linked with a sensational move to Portsmouth
An adviser to the club's new owner Sulaiman Al Fahim has confirmed there are talks over handing Maradona a role, according to Arabianbusiness.com - a website that is seen as being close to the Fratton Park supremo.
And an email said to be from Maradona's lawyer Angel Oscar Moyano says the Argentina legend can deliver David Villa, Samuel Eto'o, Sergio Aguero and David Silva to his new team.

Sportsmail revealed on Wednesday that sensational claims were coming out of the Middle East. Maradona was said to be ready to quit his job as Argentina boss to become Portsmouth's 'global ambassador' in a kind of director of football role that would see him given responsibility to build the first-team squad managed by Paul Hart.
The club has not commented but an adviser to Al Fahim is quoted by Arabian Business as saying: 'Dr Sulaiman has had some discussions with Remigio Maradona (Diego's cousin) about an ambassador-style role for Diego Maradona, but it is more to do with developing the youth academy at Portsmouth.'

The adviser would not comment on emails from Moyano which the website says it has seen.
They contain an offer for Maradona to become Portsmouth's worldwide 'sports adviser and talent spotter' and says the 1986 World Cup winner has the four superstar players' 'personal commitment to enter into exclusive talks with Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim'.
It is unclear when the email was written, though Cameroon striker Eto'o has clearly spoken to Manchester City over a transfer from Barcelona and is now on the verge of joining Inter Milan.
Spain star Villa has been pursued by many of Europe's top clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea, but Valencia's price tag of more than £40million has proved prohibitive.
Argentina striker Aguero, 21, is Maradona's future son-in-law but has a release clause of about £55m in his Atletico Madrid contract, which has scared off the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
And Valencia attacking midfielder Silva is also highly coveted. The 23-year-old Spain international has interested Liverpool and Real Madrid, but is still on the market.

Besides anything else if Eto'o turned down Man City's cash why would he go to Portsmouth - also what about the Inter deal.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Nonsense and pure fantasy. Pompey will basically be Man City, but will even be a worse attraction for top stars. At least Citeh are located at a big, well... City, have a decent stadium and some sort of history.

Pompey are a miniature club. They'll be a sink for all the average, money grabbing mercenaries in the Premier League. Wouldn't work for them.
