Yeah i feel sorry for them and feel sorry for us. We could quite easily be in their position if we were placed into administration and taken over by a chav like Ashley.

I feel sorry for us because now we have to find another team to put 8 goals past each season

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's insane that they have allowed things to drag out so long. the whole not selling players until the club was sold crap was idiotic as was the not employing a proper manager. Even if it was relatively short term, say a six month contract, to mean they could be sacked relatively cheaply by anyone coming in then it would be a step forward. The only thing the ongoing state of stasis achieves is to rack up debts and drive the value of the club down.

I thought that initially any delay in appointing Shearer and selling players had to be because a sale was just about to be rubber stamped but as it has dragged on it is clear that Ashley has gone completely mental.

I was discussing this with a mate yesterday, it's very close to the start of the season they probably need to sell some players (to reduce the wage bill) and bring a few more in to sort the squad out, and a manager to oversee it. IMO not shipping out the big earners now is a big gamble, if they don't bounce back first time they could be in a bigger financial mess and do a Leeds.

Probably because they have alot of fans who are delusional who are betting on them and forcing the odds down, that would be my guess.
