    Crouch to Spurs

Portsmouth have accepted an offer from Tottenham for England striker Peter Crouch, says Pompey boss Paul Hart.

A reported £10m deal was agreed on Saturday after Spurs made a renewed effort to sign the 28-year-old.

Crouch is expected to sign a five-year deal as he is reunited with former Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp.

That will be great, as it means Huntelaar won't be going there, which means Real will once again fail to cash in on their rejects.

He'll follow Harry who will no doubt spend £££s on second rate players and then **** off when Spurs finish 10th.

Given the lad's history of not staying at any club too long I hope we had the foresight to include a sell-on clause

I think Harry was one of the big things which motivated him into moving to Portsmouth IIRC so not a major surprise.

Good luck to him, still have plenty of respect for the lad.

Hmm. On the whole yes, but in his last year here I'm not sure I'd go along with that. His effort and output wasn't up to previous years' level and it seemed to me he didn't have the stomach to fight for his place. He seemed to lose that humility he previously had.

31 appearances, 11 goals. Not bad at all for a player who needs regular play to have any kind of form.

Harry Redknapp has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have not yet struck a deal for Portsmouth's Peter Crouch.

Pompey boss Paul Hart was quoted on Sunday as admitting to an agreement between the two clubs having already been reached.

A £10million bid was said to have been accepted, with the England international set to open talks regarding a move back to Spurs - the club where he began his career.

However, speaking ahead of Tottenham's Wembley Cup clash with Celtic, Redknapp insists a possible switch remains some way off.

"We are interested in Peter and I think Daniel (Levy) is talking to Peter Storrie and the pair of them are very good negotiators so I don't know where it's going at the moment," Redknapp told Sky Sports.

"Portsmouth have obviously got a price that they want and Daniel and myself have spoken and we have got a price we think is fair, so that's where we're at. Hopefully a compromise will happen and we can get something done.

"We're not that close. There won't be any medicals today and I don't think a deal has been struck yet. I think Daniel is still talking to Peter, so hopefully they can get something done.

"He won't be going to China (for the Asia Cup). He definitely won't be available or signed. It's still not a done deal. It's still ongoing. Whether something happens in the end you can never tell."

Tottenham have reached an agreement with Portsmouth to sign striker Peter Crouch.

Harry Redknapp worked with Crouch during his time in charge at Fratton Park and declared an interest in the England striker earlier this month.

Redknapp also hinted that Crouch may be too expensive for Spurs but Pompey have now accepted an offer, believed to be in the region of £9million.

The 28-year-old has also completed a medical at White Hart Lane and agreed personal terms.

                        More to follow.

""We now have four top strikers which is what you need at every club and so I am delighted to have Crouchy," added Redknapp.

Assume he means Keane, Defoe, Pavlyuchenko and now Crouch.

How much did they sign bent for?
