    Steve Finnan agrees Pompey move

    http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonl...nan.5501372.jp

The right-back was released by Spanish side Espanyol yesterday and becomes a much-needed addition to the Blues.

Pompey have been searching for a right-back since selling Glen Johnson to Liverpool this summer.

Finnan, who has played for the Merseysiders and Fulham, is set to join Pompey on their pre-season trip to Portugal.

Good luck to the lad but let's hope we see David Silva

    rip him to bits.

We HAD a right back he WAS Steve Finnan when he played we were always Winnin...

Maybe, perhaps, possibly, we might actually sign David Silva who may actually play on the left side for us at Fratton Park or maybe even Anfield!

        Lost in translation eh Marky...

It'll be interesting to see how he does as alot of people thought he was no longer up to it when he left us. I wish he all the best (except against us)

He was bleeding solid as a rock for us I think he got marginally squeezed out and was not up for sitting on the bench, but he is quality personified. Pompey are doing a great piece of business there

For some reason when I think of Finnan I have an image of him spitting - he did spit a lot IIRC.

No way, you're confusing him with Diouf.

Finnan used just spit on the ground alot, not at people.

Finnan looked passed it the season before he left but before that he was generally excellent for us. I wish him well but I'm not convinced that he is anything like the same player now and he seems to be riddled with injuries.

Ah, you must be confusing him with the groundsman then.

I think he's going to struggle to be honest. Was fading quickly when he left us, flopped at Espanyol in a slower league so I can't see him keeping up with the PL. Might be a sad sight.

It'll be good to see him back, I really think he was one of the top 2 or 3 rb's in the premiership during his time with us.
